What is Mind, Body and Birth about?

“Amazing things happen when women help other women.” – Kasia Gospoś

Throughout my work, my intention has always been to create a space where women feel safe, supported, and truly heard. I’m passionate about helping women feel empowered in their choices, trust their intuition, and approach birth with confidence rather than fear.

Alongside my clinical experience as a midwife, I also offer trauma-informed support and birth-trauma resolution. Over the years, I’ve integrated practices such as breathwork, Reiki, and meditation into my work. These approaches allow me to support the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — and help women reconnect with themselves during what can be one of the most powerful transitions in life.

I’ve seen first-hand how transformative compassionate care can be. Whether supporting someone through a joyful birth, helping them process a difficult experience, or simply holding space when they need to be heard, my aim is always the same: to walk beside women with kindness, respect, and understanding.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief — every woman deserves to feel informed, respected, and empowered in her journey through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. It’s an honour to support women as they reclaim their confidence, their voice, and their power in birth and in life

Birth trauma resolution practioner.

Birth Trauma Resolution (BTR) therapy is a calm, supportive way to help you gently release the emotional weight of a difficult birth. I use the Human Givens Rewind Technique, which is known for bringing fast, lasting relief — often within just a couple of sessions. Many women describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more themselves again soon after starting.

What a Session Feels Like

  • We begin with a relaxed chat so you can share as much or as little as you want.

  • You’re guided into a peaceful, deeply relaxed state where you feel safe and grounded.

  • From there, we use the Rewind Technique to revisit the memory in a gentle, detached way — without reliving the distress.

  • As the emotional intensity softens, your mind can finally file the memory away as something that’s over, not something that keeps replaying.

  • We then use simple, nurturing tools to rebuild confidence, strengthen your inner resources, and support your emotional wellbeing.

Why People Find It Helpful

  • You don’t need to talk through the details unless you want to.

  • The process is calm, gentle, and non‑intrusive.

  • It can also help prevent future birth trauma by easing the emotional charge of past experiences or difficult stories you’ve absorbed from others.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most people find three sessions helpful, with many noticing a big shift after just two.

Price

I am doing an introductory price of £70 a session which normally takes around 1 hour.

Contact me for times and appointments, an email will be sent to you with forms to fill out to assess and develop a session to meet your needs.

Antenatal classes

These antenatal classes are designed to help women feel informed, empowered, and emotionally prepared for birth. These sessions go beyond the basics — they focus on helping you understand your options, trust your instincts, and feel confident expressing what you need during labour and after your baby arrives.

What We Explore Together

  • Breathing techniques to help you stay calm, centred, and in control

  • Practical tools for communicating your wishes clearly and confidently

  • Gentle discussions about birth choices, rights, and support

  • Connection with other women, creating a safe space to share experiences and feel understood

  • Simple mindset and relaxation practices to reduce fear and build trust in your body

Why These Classes Matter

When women feel informed and supported, they’re more likely to have a positive birth experience. These sessions help you build emotional resilience, understand your choices, and feel ready to advocate for yourself — all of which can reduce the risk of birth trauma.

A Supportive Space

Every class is friendly, relaxed, and judgement‑free. You’re encouraged to ask questions, explore your feelings, and connect with others who are on the same journey.

Classes will be set In the Mind, body and birth format. Each session will be 2 hours long, a chance to meet other women and have a cup of tea afterwards.

First Session “Mind”- What we can do to be in control of our own minds, techniques to help calm our minds and empower us at the most important times, before and after birth, how becoming a mother changes the way we think,

Second session “Body”- how we see our bodies, Do you like your body? do you trust your body, even before birth?, how do we hold ourselves, do we have good posture, why is posture important, how can this effect my birth. Using the knowledge if of biomechanical birth and optimal birth, what can we do to ensure that you are in the best health to birth your baby?

Third session “Birth”- The first 2 classes are mainly for women then the 3rd section, birth partners are welcome to come. By this point women will be more empowered to discuss birth on a different level. The class will discuss the normal birth process, what to expect, what choices and rights you have, the role of the birthing partner…

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, calming form of energy work that helps your body and mind relax, reset, and feel more balanced. It’s all about creating a sense of peace and wellbeing.

During a Reiki session, you stay fully clothed and simply rest while I place my hands lightly on or just above the body. Many people describe feeling warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or a lovely sense of calm. Others simply feel rested and lighter afterwards.

Reiki doesn’t require you to believe in anything specific — it’s more like giving your nervous system a chance to breathe. When your body relaxes, it naturally begins to heal, release tension, and restore balance.

It’s a soothing, nurturing experience that supports emotional wellbeing, reduces stress, and helps you reconnect with yourself.

Testimonials

“I cannot recommend Megan enough she is so personable and genuine. Revisiting past birth trauma is such a vulnerable and emotional experience but throughout Megan kept me at ease and I really did feel a sense of safety in her presence to revisit such a vulnerable chapter in my motherhood. After our sessions ended I felt equipped with the strategies Megan taught me going forward. I know Megan will do amazing things helping other woman, she is such a beautiful and empathetic person.” Rachel

“I came to see Megan to try to process my trauma and after our sessions, I felt so differently about my birth. It used to be the first thing I thought about when people asked about my daughter and I found myself talking about my birth story all the time and suffering from flash backs, particularly at night. After the sessions with Megan, I feel so differently about my birth. I will always wish things had been different but I no longer find it consumes me, and I rarely find myself thinking about or bringing up what happened. Now it feels like a distant memory and one that doesn’t hold emotion in the same way as before, I no longer feel consumed by the sadness. I can’t thank Megan enough for how much better I am since attending sessions with her. She creates such a calm and safe feeling space where I truly felt I could be vulnerable and knew she wanted me to feel better as much as I did. I would recommend anyone feeling trauma around their birth to speak to her, she truly has changed my outlook and enabled me to enjoy my maternity leave time with my baby.” Olivia.

professional profile

Bachelor of Midwifery, 2011 – Since qualifying, I have worked in various areas of midwifery and in different parts of the world. I spent eight years at Birmingham Women’s Hospital on a busy delivery suite and birth centre, and also worked as a home birth midwife in Fife for a couple of years. I continue to enjoy my role as a community midwife, but I’m now ready to explore new avenues while still cherishing the time spent supporting women.

Biomechanical Birth 2022- A course run by the company optimal births and Molly O Brien which helps look into further detail of the pelvis, movement and ways to optimise labour through knowledge of the anatomy. I continue to use the lessons i learnt in my midwifery practice and encourage women to adopt them in their daily lives.

Meditation instructor 2024- I spent time in India and was fortunate enough to gain my 200hour teacher training programme. I enjoy leading mediation and found different techniques and ways to help calm our nervous system. I particularly enjoy leading yoga nidra which can be a very healing meditation.

Reiki Healer 2024- India was a great opportunity to consolidate my interests and Reiki has intrigued me for a while. Reiki is a form of energy healing that uses gently touch to heal the chakras and the energy flow through the body. I try to live by the Reiki philosophy-

Just for today, be Grateful

Just for today, do not worry

Just for today, do not anger

Just for today, work with diligence

Just for today, be kind to every living thing

Birth Trauma Resolution Practitioner 2026 – I qualified after completing a year-long course exploring the psychology of post-traumatic stress disorder, how the brain copes, and methods for healing. I found the course incredibly educational. I’ve worked with a few women using the “Rewind” technique and am looking forward to supporting more women in a way that is both powerful and effective.
